Arrowheads are excellent for shallow water, especially on marshy lakeshores or quiet stream margins. They do well in sandy, silty or peaty soil, and generally withstand fluctuating water levels. Crested arrowhead has showy flowers, and slender leaves without the "arrowhead" shape.
